Outreach and Awareness

Since its establishment, CLIP has supported the electoral process in Afghanistan. In 2014, CLIP implemented several outreach and awareness projects aimed at increasing citizen awareness on democratic rights, inclusion women and youth in the political processes, and the importance of participation in elections. Through these programs, CLIP reached more than hundreds of thousand people through training workshops and conferences, radio and television programs, and through religious scholars in Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir, Kapisa and Bamyan provinces. Thanks to funding from Counterpart International (CPI) through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and The Asia Foundation via the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), CLIP was able to reach some of the most isolated communities.

In 2014-2015 CLIP also conducted robust outreach and awareness campaigns in Kabul, Panjshir, Kapisa and Parwan to decrease the practice of ‘baad’, a traditional dispute resolution practice wherein a family gives away a daughter as a penalty to settle conflict. Funded by Tawanmandi, CLIP carried out around 100 awareness events i.e., training workshops, sport matches, radio and television talk-shows, spots and round tables reaching tens of thousands of people

In 2016 and 2018, CLIP successfully implemented police-community outreach project. Funded by United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the projects aimed at building trust and enhancing police-community partnership. CLIP delivered a series of outreach activities i.e., community schools and universities outreach events, sports matches between community and police, radio-television spots and round tables that resulted in bringing police-community closer in Kabul, Nangarhar, Kapisa, Panjshir, Balkh, Samangan, Faryab, Takhar, Badakhshan and Diakondi provinces. Ten of thousands of people learned on duties and responsibilities of civilian policing model, 119 emergency hotlines, management skills, public safety methods, etc.
